The 6888th were the only African American women to deploy overseas during World War Two. Their mission was to work through a backlog of mail waiting to be sent to service members overseas. Major Charity Adams was a graduate of Wilberforce University and called Dayton, Ohio home after the war. Targeted for Grades 5-12.
