US Census Records and How to Use Them

6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Miamisburg Branch

Description

Census records are one of the best ways to research your ancestry. Census records can be rich with details about your ancestors. You can find your ancestors in the complete set of U.S. Federal Census images from 1790-1950, including name indexes. Dayton Metro Library has free access to the US Census records starting from 1790 to the recently released records from 1950. You can also research Slave Schedules, Mortality Records, and Indian Census rolls.

Join our class and learn how to search out records and find all the other clues you can glean from the information you find.

Laptops will be available to use for your research or bring your own.

Support staff are welcome. Please contact us if accommodations are needed.
