Planting Seeds: Start a Window Plant

5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Northwest Branch

Description

Learn the simple way to grow your own herb, and make it a great learning experience for you and your child. Where do you think all of these plants come from? what does it take to start a plant? to grow a plant? We will plant the child’s first herb to grow at home. When the seeds start to sprout, use the seedling to practice observing, measuring, and even experimenting. What a great way to give a foundation in scientific inquiry - to plant, care for and watch seeds and seedlings. Participants will develop their inner naturalists and build a foundation of understanding about the life cycle of plants. In addition, they will discover a tasty item to eat! This class is taught by an Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener. Materials will be provided. Please register in advance.
