Colorful Creatures to Love is a 45–60-minute program for your library’s summer reading challenge, aligning with the theme “Color Our World”  Summer Reading Challenge Theme. 

This engaging presentation combines live animal encounters with fascinating insights into animal science and careers. Program Highlights:

Live Animal Demonstration: Meet five to six animals from different species including — birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and insects —and discover how they use color to survive, communicate, or camouflage.

Educational Focus: Learn the science behind animal colors and why they are essential in nature.

Animal Careers Exploration: Gain insight into careers working with animals and how to get involved in wildlife conservation.

Take-Home Materials: Each child receives a Wild Hearts animal-themed coloring sheet to inspire creativity at home.



The presenter kindly asks that all participants remain calm and still during live animal demonstrations. Please plan to arrive on time, as the door will remain closed while animals are being shown. Entry to the program room may only be permitted between demonstrations to ensure the safety and comfort of the animals and audience.
