Day of the Dead at the Library: Global Ancestral Celebration

12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Main Library

Description

The Dayton Metro Library is creating multiple altars around the Main library. The community is making a Community Tree of Life to remember the people in our lives who are no longer with us. We would love to share the names of any loved ones or important people you think we should honor. The physical tree will have names, photos, and stories that will be presented at the Dia De Muertos festival.

This year, we are exploring the global expression of celebration for our ancestors. The Catrina face painting will take place from noon to 2:00 p.m. A small parade will take place around the Library starting at 2:00 p.m. and will end in the forum with Orgullo Mexicano and Troupe Roja performing.

This event is free and open to the public and people can register on the day of.
