Connect with fellow graphic novel lovers at our monthly book club for adults, where we explore engaging stories told through art and text. While our focus is on graphic novels for adults, we’ll also explore titles from the teen and children’s collections, because great storytelling knows no age limit!
Each month, we’ll read a new graphic novel and meet to discuss themes, artwork, characters, and more. Whether you're a lifelong comics fan or just discovering the format, this club is a welcoming space for all readers.
Copies of the book are available at the Wilmington-Stroop Library for checkout.
Please Note: Graphic novels can include intense or mature themes. We encourage participants to review content warnings ahead of time to ensure a comfortable reading experience.
This month we will be reading Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe.
"Persephone, young goddess of spring, is new to Olympus. Her mother, Demeter, has raised her in the mortal realm, but after Persephone promises to train as a sacred virgin, she's allowed to live in the fast-moving, glamorous world of the gods. When her roommate, Artemis, takes her to a party, her entire life changes: she ends up meeting Hades and feels an immediate spark with the charming yet misunderstood ruler of the Underworld. Now Persephone must navigate the confusing politics and relationships that rule Olympus, while also figuring out her own place--and her own power." -Library catalog
