Description

The Government Commons is a community learning series designed to make historical and current government learning available to everyone.  Module 6 explores Civil Rights & Liberties: Beyond the Founding, and focuses on how was excluded, and how that changed.  Key concepts are: the Constitution's silences (race, gender, disability, sexuality), how "rights" enter the legal system (litigation, legislation, protest), and the ongoing tension between equality and federalism.
